Gwabba Boodja
Overview
Gwabba Boodja is a celebration Noongar knowledge and how as the original custodians, the Noongar people have cared for this land for thousands of years. Students are introduced to the six Noongar seasons and how they provide a deeper understanding of what is happening in the bushland habitat. Students investigate specific animals from the South West of Western Australia using their Noongar names. Students will also explore the different animal behaviours observed during different seasons. Story telling takes the students on a journey and they use their new knowledge to role play different animal behaviours with the relevant season. Together we discuss different ways that we can all care for Country so bushland habitats are healthy for future generations.
