Powerhouse Museum
The Powerhouse is one of Australia’s oldest and most important cultural institutions, running across five platforms – Powerhouse Ultimo, Powerhouse Castle Hill, Sydney Observatory and Powerhouse Parramatta (under construction)
The Powerhouse, through its renewal and across its platforms, will redefine museums in the 21st century by renegotiating the terms of engagement with communities, radically returning to and reckoning with its legacy as a museum of industry and fortifying its vital role in the cultural and economic ecosystems of NSW, Australia and the world.

Visual Arts - Stages 4-6
Using active enquiry techniques, learners will examine two to three artworks on display using a combination of Visible Thinking Routines and The Frames / Conceptual Framework.
History, The Past in the Present - Stage 1
In this program school groups examine artefacts such as Loco no.1 and the Horse-drawn omnibus. Using active inquiry techniques learners will compare and contrast technologies to modern equivalents, building historical awareness and understanding.
Science and Technology, Physical World - Stage 1
In this program school groups examine artefacts such as the F1 Rocket Engine on loan from the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, USA and Locomotive No.1243.
Science and Technology, Materal World - Stage 3
In this program school groups examine artefacts such as the F1 Rocket Engine on loan from the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, USA and the Catalina Flying Boat.

In this program school groups examine artefacts such as the F1 Rocket Engine on loan from the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, USA and the Catalina Flying Boat.
